Wondering, Wandering Wednesday Photo Challenge

October 26, 2011 By Daniel Hale

Happy Hump-Day everybody! Well, as I hope will become a tradition here at the DisGeek Podcast Web Site, every Wednesday I will post a photo and issue a challenge for our readers to answer a question about it.

This Wednesday’s Challenge is this:

This waterfall is an integral part of what attraction in the Disneyland Resort?

If you know, or think you know the answer, drop me a line.

You can do this by:

Leaving a comment here (certanly the simplest way)

Send me a direct message on Twitter (@disgeekpaul)

or drop me an e-mail: paul@disgeek.com.

I’ll keep your answers hidden so that more people can guess, therefore YOU will be able to see your answer, but no one else will. I need to keep it going as long as I can and give everyone a fair shot at it.

Tomorrow morning I’ll post the names of players who guessed correctly and reveal a new photo with the correct answer.

Have a great wonderful, wandering Wednesday!

Wednesday Photo Challenge Answer: Tomorrowland Terrace/Jedi Training Academy

October 20, 2011 By Daniel Hale

Every Wednesday we test your DLR knowledge with a photograph taken somewhere in the Disneyland Resort.  A good number of people guessed, but only a handful nailed it.

That gorgeous planter is one of several landmarks belonging to Tomorrowland Terrace  in Tomorrowland and have been there since 2006 when the Terrace was redesigned for the third time since 1967.

It currently hosts the “Jedi Training Academy”, where kids between the ages of 4 and 12 are randomly chosen to participate in the show to become Jedi padawan and face off against Darth Maul and Darth Vader.

That’s something I would have LOVED to do when I was a kid! How awesome is it to be a kid in Disneyland these days?

Anyway, those of you who answered Tomorowland Terrace or Jedi Training Academy were correct!

To those of you who answered “Tomorrowland”, close, but no cookie. Remember that the question was “where, precisely, can one find the planter.” 😉

Here is the list of this week’s winners:

Daniel Aird

Rei

Kerry D.

Teresa Hale

“LilLeopard” (Twitter)

“Littletwinstar” (Twitter)

Elizabeth Tsuzaki

Sarah Weinberg

And to those who gave it a shot, thank you so much for participating! It’s great to know our Podcast listeners and Blog Readers are involved, lol, you’re usually so quiet! 😉

We’ll have a new one for you next week, so when you’re in the Disneyland Resort (Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, Downtown Disney and all of the Disney hotels), keep your eyes peeled and take in everything.  This time you guys got off easy. Next time may not be such a cakewalk.

Wandering & Wondering Wednesday Photo Challenge

October 19, 2011 By Daniel Hale

Inspired by our friends at the Days In The Park blog, I have decided to rip a page out of their book of awesome and start a guessing game of my own. So just to be clear, in this scenario, Days in the Park is Madonna and I’m Lady Gaga.

I started doing this game on Facebook and quickly found that while we had a lot of players, as soon as someone answered correctly (without me confirming it or anything), the game stopped. Dead.

So, in the hopes that more people can join in the game, I have decided to bring the concept here to DisGeek.com where we are able to keep things quieter than we can on Facebook. 😉

Every Wednesday I will post a photo and issue a challenge for our readers to answer a question about it.

While I plan to make tougher challenges, I’ll start us off with something rather easy.

Where, precisely, can this planter of sword ferns be found in the Disneyland Resort?

If you know, or think you know the answer, drop me a line.

You can do this by:

Leaving a comment here (certanly the simplest way)

Send me a direct message on Twitter (@disgeekpaul)

or drop me an e-mail: paul@disgeek.com.

I’ll keep your answers hidden so that more people can guess, therefore YOU will be able to see your answer, but no one else will. I need to keep it going as long as I can and give everyone a fair shot at it.

Tomorrow morning I’ll post the names of players who guessed correctly and reveal a new photo with the correct answer, that will leave you either smacking yourself in the forehead or saying “yep, I knew it”.

Have a great wonderful, wandering Wednesday!

On Mondays, be sure to head over to Days In The Park for their “Magical Mystery Monday” photo challenge.
