Star Wars Villain Kylo Ren will be Arriving at Disneyland

January 15, 2016 By Daniel Hale

Per the Disney Parks Blog:

Star Wars: The Force Awakens has become a global phenomenon, and soon guests at Disneyland will be able to interact with one of the film’s most intriguing new characters, Kylo Ren.

Soon, a visit to Star Wars Launch Bay at Disneyland will transport you to the Star Wars galaxy for an encounter with Kylo Ren on the bridge of his First Order Star Destroyer.

As seen in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Kylo Ren is a dark warrior with a mysterious past. Ren is strong with the Force and serves as a leader of the First Order, seeking to destroy the New Republic, the Resistance and the legacy of the Jedi.

Star Wars Launch Bay was designed to showcase a variety of Star Wars characters over time. In addition to Kylo Ren, you may also come across a garrison of First Order Stormtroopers or the heroic Wookiee, Chewbacca, holed up in a secret Resistance base.

The portal from Star Wars Launch Bay to Kylo Ren’s Star Destroyer opens at Disneyland park and at Disney’s Hollywood Studios next month.

Morning Breakfast at the River Belle Terrace has been a tradition for many families over the last few decades. That will all come to an end on February 10th 2016 as the River Belle Terrace switches over to become a table-service location, serving lunch and dinner. “Southern barbecue staples like ribs, chicken and sustainable seafood alongside enticing starters and sides will be on the menu”, according to the Disney Parks Blog. Disney is also promising signature desserts as well.

VIDEO: ‘Paint the Night’ Parade Rehearsals at the Disneyland Resort

April 13, 2015 By Daniel Hale

We are getting closer and closer to the big 60th Anniversary Diamond Celebration at Disneyland!  One of the big new additions is, “Paint the Night” a sort of Main Street Electrical Parade 2.0. We’ve seen video of this parade in Hong Kong Disneyland but we are looking forward to seeing this in person at our very own Main Street here at Disneyland!

Here is the original Disney Parks Blog post:

~~

Opening May 22 as part of the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration, the spectacular new “Paint the Night” parade will feature some of the most innovative floats, vibrant costumes, dazzling special effects, unforgettable music and energetic performances ever presented at Disneyland Resort.

The Entertainment team has been working around the clock to get the “Paint the Night” parade ready for its big debut. Today, we’re pleased to offer you a glimpse at one of our performer rehearsals with the Fiber Fairies from the opening unit and the Cars Crew, who join Mack Truck and Lightning McQueen. Once everything comes together, these talented performers will become an integral part of the show.

The music for the “Paint the Night” parade, a bit of which can be heard in the video, features the wonderful tune, “When Will I See You Again,” by the band Owl City. The song gives a great, contemporary sound to this new, state-of-the-art nighttime parade. And when you see “Paint the Night” in person, be sure to listen closely. You may just hear some musical surprises woven into the soundtrack!
