Some of you loled at this one. Some of you gave me guff for being too easy… again.

MANY of you were wrong. In fact one of you who told me it was “too easy”, was also wrong.

DANIEL, co-host of the podcast and walking encyclopedia/GPS navigator of everything DLR, got it wrong the first time.

Who’s loling now?

If you said California Screamin’, you were close, but wrong. Toy Story Midway Mania, also wrong. If you said Paradise Pier, wrong. And if you said all of the above together, you were still wrong.

Yes, it is Paradise Pier, California Screamin’ and Toy Story Midway Mania in the clip, but the correct answer was an attraction that can’t be heard in the clip.

To recap, when I issued the challenge, I said that a woman in the sound clip gives relevant information about an attraction in close proximity to where the clip was captured.

The question was:

What attraction she is referring to?

About 10 seconds into the clip the woman says “Only some of them swing” to her young daughter. She is, of course, referring to the gondolas on:

Not only do some of them swing, but some of them also slide; which is why I’ll never ride one of those gondolas on that Ferris Wheel.

I have a hard time with heights as it is. I tend to stay away from Ferris Wheels altogether.

Going up high, I can handle if there is a drop– like Tower of Terror or one of the many insane roller coasters at Six Flags. But going up high and sitting there scares the tar outta me.

I don’t look out the window on airplanes. Let’s leave it at that and move on.

Anyway, I placed the clip at the top of the page so you can listen again. 🙂

Some of you didn’t use the exact name of the attraction, but you knew what it is, so that’s correctness in my book.

You ALL knew where I was, and if the question was where am I, you’d have all been correct and I’d be a chump for thinking that you wouldn’t know that.

So I threw a curve-ball.

Some of you hit it and some of you struck out. All and all, I’d say it was a successful challenge.
